I've done that to see who the culprit is, and I also often sit back there
with coffee and watch the fish. It's very relaxing and a nice place to

a break (the sunroom where they are). I haven't seen any of them fin nip.

Ok, well this narrows the culprits down.
What fish are active after lights out int his tank?

I really don't know..... the plecos? I usually shut the light off when I go
to bed. I think I'll shut it off early and quietly watch the tank.
