Here's what I've done that works real good:

At to top of the screen click on Tools, options, display, tags, add,
clean list, click on the box to the right, and tag it black, ok, add,
trash list, click on the box to the right, and tag it pale green, ok,
ok.

While viewing rec.aquaria.marine.reefs, click on Tools, Message
Filters, Make sure it says, filters for rec.aquaria.marine.reefs.
Click new, create filter name "clean list", match any of the
following, from, contains. Add a regular user, then click "+", and do
it again with the other regular users. Then perform these actions,
Tag message, Clean list, ok. Click new, create filter name "trash
list", match all of the following, perform these actions, tag
message, trash list, ok, then close window.

And I also created a troll list.

OK, I think I got thunderbird up and running with motzarella...so
now how do I start blocking the a-holes?

Wayne,
OK think I have the idea...is there a way to run it on past messages,
or will it only work on future messages that come in?
Mitch

Hawt.
Got it working.
Now just need to figure out who else to add to the clean list
