Thanks Kurt, I never tried using the pickling lime before. I've read about
others' good results with it, but never tried it myself, I'll give it a
shot.

Not only is it dirt cheap, but it doesn't leave a yellow residue behind
and it appears to last longer (no evidence, just subjective). I go for
months between washing out my containers.

I've also seen it at wal-mart in the fall, but at this time of year, you
may need to order it.
