I have numerous sponges starting to grow in the 45. The 30 already has a
bunch. Some survived when we bought the lr.

The change since i removed the bio matter (fun to say), from the 45
gallon, is noteworthy.

I had sponges growing when I had high nitrates and phosphates, but I'm not
aware of any at the moment. Of course, I have gray angels as well.

according to some book my wife read sponges are a sign of a healthy
aquarium. so are those little fleas and bristle worms. i was watching some
of my pesky anemones eating the fleas. they are fun to watch.

when the 45 was needing frequent changes sponges weren't growing. as soon as
the nitrates dropped they started growing. or at least that's when i saw
them.

i've never had high phosphates but i use ro/di water.

if gray angels eat sponges why do you have them? too many sponges?
