Default dwarf lionfish RIP

I am not certain that the cat pulled him out of the tank- i only saw the cat
on top of the tank the day before i found the lionfish dried up on the
floor(without any lacerations on it) behind the tank. It is possible the
fish jumped on top of the cover, and the cat heard or saw him flopping up
there, and was just looking at it- or the cat may have had nothing at all to
do with the fish going onto the floor. Of course, it is remotely possible
the cat yanked the fish out of the tank, but that would be without getting
stung, and without marking the fish. Basically, the fish probably simply
jumped out- he had jumped out once before when i was feeding them. Mike.

My dwarf lionfish died sometime in the last day or so. I found him
missing today, then found him dead on the floor behind the tank. he
either jumped out or got pulled out by a cat. Yesterday, I think it was,
I saw my cat, which is over fifteen years old, sitting atop my fish tank,
looking down into the water at an open corner near the back of the tank.
I chased the cat off the tank, and didn't think to count my fishes. Now I
am thinking I might have missed a chance to save the fish's life. I
cannot believe that a fish dying could bother me this much. I would
rather have lost the cat than the fish. Mike
