Yeah, I have fed cichlids lean beef ... no apparent harm. I would worry
about feeding them fat though, as I have fed fat to Oscars, in the past,
and from their stool, it is obvious they CANNOT process fat ...
Beef heart is very good though ... I have never seen any live food able to
put on mass on a fish faster ... and, it is VERY cheap!

I'm thinking you can always boil any meat to get rid of the fat. I
wonder if cooking it will diminish it in any way for the fishies?
