Depends what you are feeding... I know cichlids do not do well with tubifex,
and have had some of my guppies do poorly with them. I use blood worms to
induce my guppies to produce, but sometimes they end up bloated and die
because of them.. I will feed my cichlids them but as a treat once a month
but no more ( Malawi bloat seems to happen even with the BW's if feed
more ).. My GF and Koi seem to do alright with eithier...

I don't know the specific difference - probably depends a lot on the
manufacturer. My recommendation would be to get both, and alternate
them with some flake as well. More variety is a Good Thing.
Unfortunately, I've got a picky little puffer fish that won't eat
*anything* except frozen bloodworms. PITA fish.
