I have had a H.O.T. Magnum Filter in operation on my 30-gallon tropical

fish
aquarium for over two years. Recently the Bio-wheel stopped turning. I
cleaned the filter, etc., but it still won't turn. Does anyone have any
suggestions as to what should be done? Replace the Bio-wheel?

Thanks for any help,
Jim Capaldi

Check for large buildups of organic matter on the pleats that may be

causing
it to be out of balance. Then check the axels and the slots in the housing
for debris. There are, IMO, *very* few cases when a bio-wheel actually

needs
to be tossed.
Also check water flow, it may be diverted, or not strong enough to

turn
it. These things have always gotten things going again for me.
