Tank-cycle, Tank-cycle, I want my tank to tank-cycle (I hear Queen!)...
I agreee that he has made a huge error in setting up his tank and that
he shouldn't get any more fish for the time being. I don't agree on
the (lack) of advice he's getting. He's here because he's realized
that he made a mistake.
The reason this forum is here is for people like him who jumped into a
tank with both feet and are now sinking fast. Rather than tell him
how he made a huge mistake, shouldn't we be giving advice on how to
correct the problem?
As for my advice, I could give it but seeing as I'm a novice (only
about 8 months experience on 4 tanks), I will let the veterans help
him out.

get a bigger tank like a 75 gallon tank for cichlids and even then do ALOT
of RESEARCH on each fish to see if you can offer EVERYTHING the particular
fish needs to live a long happy life.
i think it's safe to say from past experiences that neil is far from the
type who would do months of research before getting or taking care of
fish.... i was on this newsgroup for a good 3 months before i even filled my
tank with water, and it's the best thing i ever did.
most of his problems could have been avoided and the consequences less harsh
had he actually studied.
