Sounds like you have a nice tank full of food waiting for the crayfish..
They seem to have liked my bait minows while fishing, I don't think they
would mind sleeping catfish and other edible fish in a tropical tank...

Crayfish will eat anything they can grab and hold onto. My fellow is in
with a Red-Tailed Black Shark, 2 Chinese Algae Eaters and numerous feeder
guppies. The feeder guppies were bought to feed him if caught, but to
tell
you the truth I have no idea if he does because the way that they
multiply!
My larger CAE has a piece missing out of his tail, so I think that he migh
t
of been grabbed, but scooted away. I really like him, but I wouldn't be
able to put him in my community tank for the fear of what he could do to
my
corys as he's about 5 inches long. Crayfish have their place as
scavengers
and plus they really get attention when someone sees them in your tank. On
another note, I don't think you could keep them in a planted aquarium as
it
would destroy and uproot anything. Mine takes pleasure in moving the
plastic plants around and can rip the leaves off them as well. If you do
go
for a crayfish make sure you have a cave or two for them to hid in, they
also prefer cooler water.
