Yeah, it looks like there's quite a few bubbles floating through from the
filter pour.
I did buy a thermometer today and it's reading at 73 or 74 without a heater.
Does that mean I can only buy goldfish unless I add a heater? That's what
I'm seeing from most of what I've read.

Stupid question I have is about the air bubbles. Does the Eclipse
System need something else for that?
Don't put too much water in the tank! Fill only enough to leave a gap of
one inch or so below the biowheel "waterfall" so the dropping water can
agitate the tank's surface. Same aeration effect as bubbles.
If you later find your fish sucking air... then you can consider a
separate
pump and air-stone to make bubbles.
Check your water temperature (cheap digital thermometer from the
supermarket) and you MAY find the Eclipse pump is warming the water
enough to render a separate heater unnecessary. This is a "feature" of
my
2-gallon Eclipse.

If you do buy a Goldfish...in a 12 g tank you could only house one.
