really, I've thought about painting the back of a tank before it gets
installed, but the chances of wanting it to change, makes it nearly
impossible...

If you do happen to come up with an idea... I'll listen...

to be something to put the background flush with the glass. Lately I've
squirted some water between, smoothed out with a credit card, but that's
short term, and edges don't stick. Thinking maybe sugarwater??
7-Up/Sprite/Ginger Ale, something sticky but clear, and won't hurt if it
gets in the tank accidentally.
Heard reference to vegtable oil being used, not sure if I want that near
my
tank.
