The root of your problem -- regardless of what Dinky said -- is
keeping only one of each type of fish in your tank. Opaline and dwarf
gouramis can coexist, but I would suggest keeping several individuals
of each species. Add at least 2 opalines and 2 dwarfs and you should
be fine.

Hey All:
I've never had two gourami's in the same tank before, as I am fairly new
to the hobby, however I saw one that I couldn't resist and pick him up (He's
a Dwarf Gourami while the current inhabitant is a Opuline).
I took all the standard precautions before putting my new friend in the
tank and when it was time he made a nice
addition............but............oh no.......the opluline blue comes out
of the depths and is chasing him around.
Now I no that this is a territorial thing because there's no nips on my
new friends fin's the opuline just chases him around and now for the last
day has had him backed into a corner.
My question is, is there anything I can do to help my little guy out,
either remove some objects to screw up the old territories etc.....
Thanks in Advance
