For vacations 7 days or less I don't feed at all. Have done over a dozen
trips like this and all the fish survived every time. Just feed them twice
a day for a few days beforehand and everything will be fine. I did buy a
PennPlax daily double feeder several years ago for trips longer than 7 days.
This is an EL-CHEAP-O feeder and it dumps food into the tank twice a day.
It takes a little experimentation to ensure your fish get the amount of food
they need and not too much. Anyway HTH - for 5 days, they'll be fine.
