Strange Algae Growth - Advice ??


However, this happened the week before we went away on vacation. I
had my neighbour feeding my fish, and I showed him how much to give
them each day.

Anytime I hear these phrases together, it always comes back to over feeding,
and overly cautious tank owners...

Your fish will survive for a week without food, 99.9% of the time...

Advice...
1. get a handle on your water, good cleaning, vacuuming, etc...
2. Feed sparsely for a week
3 Make sure you clean your filters because what didn't get eaten is now in
the filters, probably adding to the problem...

I use a scrubbing pad to clean the glass, and sometimes, it takes manual
removal, to wipe the slate clean... once removed manually, it's easier to
keep the nutrients from feeding the algae that isn't there...
