as some of you might know, I'm a cichlid man. never owned any other fish
before in my life.
now, I have got a tank for work, but the people here wanted some
tropicals,
so this is what I got:
1 silver shark
1 dwarf gourami
1 bristlenose catfish
2 clown loaches
3 Cardinal Tetras
3 black Tetras
personally I don't go for such mindless little creatures as tetras, but
the
loaches and cat are pretty cool.
I'm interested in this shark though, but I don't know much about him. I
am
feeding a tropical flake food, and for the loaches and cat I am feeding
zuccini. what does the shark eat??
Silver Sharks are great fish - they grow large quickly however but still
retain their peaceful attitude.
I have two living happily in a community tank of tetras thats fed on flake
only.
I do however feel you should up the number of Cardinals - at least 10
Dwarf Gouramis are peaceful shy fish - why not put some colourful
livebearers in instead of them.
Clown Loach are very active when small but will hide when they get larger
so
in an office tank might never be seen. Why not substitute with the ever
active corydorus cats - I could get 5 of them for the price of a clown
loach in my local aquatic centre.
thanks for the tips, it's only a fairly small aqaurium, I intend to take the
fish out when they get too big and take them back to the shop to substitute
for smaller fish. I didn't really want the dwarf gourami either, but the
weight of numbers was against me I'm afraid :-(
