Default Powerhead Aeration

I hooked up a powerhead last night and the sound of it sucking air created a
terrible noise. I read about people making mufflers for their airpumps so I
thought I would take that concept and play. I took the end of the tube,
from the powerhead, and inserted into a hole that I drilled into a the
bottom of a plastic prescription pill container. I then drilled a small
hole in the other side of the container. I lightly stuffed the inside of
the container with cotton and siliconed the tube where it enters the pill
container. The end result was quiet. I hope this helps anyone who might
have too much noise from a noisy powerhead. Obviously if I remove the
aeration tube altogether it is also silent but I wanted to aerate the tank.
