When I was raising them, I had a snail-only tank. You won't need that
kind of setup unless you have a snail-eating fish in the tank along.
About the only thing you have to worry about with the snails is food.
Pretty much any brand of sinking algae wafer will do the trick. If it's
a planted tank, certain species of apple snail will devour every plant
you have.
Also, keep in mind that apple snails are very messy residents, and as
your babies grow they will add to the bio-load of your tank. Make sure
you're doing regular water changes and vacuum the gravel thoroughly
each time to keep water quality good.
