Default loach question

I returned from 2 weeks out of town to find what looks to

be at least 100
snails in my tank and I've read all the postings about

snails and loaches.
My tank is 29 gal high with small to med size gravel and

has the following:
lots of plants, 2 guppies, 4 platies, 1 marbled hatchet, 6

danios (3
zebra/3long-fins), and 5 peppered corys.
Everything is fine in the tank except for all the snails

so I thought I'd
get some loaches to control them. I'm concerned about the

substrate and any
conflict between the corys and the loaches. I thought I'd

try for 3 zebra or
yoyo loaches. Anyone have any thoughts on this before I

add them to the
tank? TIA
Denise

I have a 30 gal. long with 2 Yo-Yo loaches, 3
Peppered Corys, 4-5 Neon Tetras, 3-4
Otocinclus. The Yo-Yo get rambunctuous
but I haven't noticed any damage to the other
fish. They do like a place to hide so if you
can put a piece of PVC pipe (about 1" in
diameter) in the tank they will like that. Else
they'll hide in the hollows of one of your
ornaments!

In a 10 gallon tank I have 3 Skunk Botia
(also snail eaters) with 3 Otos, 4 young
Corydoras habrosus. Same experience as
above.

I have gravel in both tanks, + sand beaches in
the 20 gallon which the Yo-Yos sometimes
excavate under but not excessively so.

Botia will sometimes unroot the more shallowly
(or newly) rooted plants (like some crypts).
I just replant them.

Good luck -
