Consider yourself lucky, unless you are keeping 'marine fish'.

I definately second that opinion....thats really seems extreme for
freshwater unless he meant 5 gallons instead of liters. Odd no Calcium
Sulfate (gymsum) to complete the gammet. Those are the 3 salts popular
to reconstitute RO water.......3 parts Calcium Sulfate, 1 part Calcium
Chloride (Sea salt of course with its trace minerals), and 1 part
Magnesium Sulfate (Epsom Salts). Of course much less at least for
Discus with the parts being grams per 20 gallons (some say its
essentially the RO right liquid.. Of course the amounts must be
adjusted to the proper desired conductivity folowing the 3:1 ratio . I
have seen other recipes that use Calcium Carbonate instead of the
Gypsum.

Hi,

I have quite a bit on this board about people using epsom salt to

prevent/cure diseases.

I would just like to get the pros and cons with using epsom salt

in my
tank.

I already add the seachem lake salts with the seachem ph buffer

Could someone provide the pros and cons with using epsom salt? I

also
have
heard too much salt will kill the
catfish.

How much is to be used?

Thanks Andre
