The film you are getting on top of the water would tend to indicate not
enough turbulence at the surface. If you increase that it should disburse
over a day or so.

With the fluval 2 plus you've got just put on the attachment that
sucks down air from the surface, which will give you plenty of
agittion - some noise too unfortunately
