Even the low-to-mid-pay type jobs are being outsourced. When you call
a computer company for tech support, chances are you'll be talking to
someone in India. Those jobs aren't what I'd call "high end". They
are moving anything they can offshore. The inflation in the US has
made it impossible to maintain thier profit margin with the wages
that American workers are *forced* to demand. Sure, people complain
that the workers in India are only paid 300 bucks a month, but guess
what? 300 bucks a month is enough to live on in India. They're happy
to do the job and happy with the pay. I see no way to fix this.
"Hanging up" won't fix anything, the companies simply can't afford to
stay in business over the long term with the way our economy is.
Consumers are demanding certain things from companies, and the only
way they can deliver is to cut costs in other areas. We're bitching
about a symptom here, folks, not a problem.
