and I would put food in with mom, if she spit them once, she will probably
spit them again and eat and suck em back in if she finds trouble.

MY BIG MISTAKE...
Had the female in her own 15G to recover. After 2 days, she was
eating and looked good so put her back in 55G with the other 7 adults.
Next day she is hanging out at the surface, fins ragged, looking
awful, getting harassed. Put her back in 15G, too late, dead today.
Doh!!!!

Next time I'm taking your advice Kelly, leaving Mom with fry in 15G
for at least couple of weeks after she spits them and starts eating
again and taking my chances that she chows down on a fry or two.
Seems most natural way and easily the least stress on the mother.

Wiser by experience.
