Default Elipsifer Eel ----- Aethiomastacembelus elipsifer Tanganyika

Very interesting! I haven't seen these guys before at our LFS's (or at
least haven't noticed them). I'd be curious to know if a full-grown one
would be compatible with smaller Tanganyikan cichlids (shell dwellers,
smaller Lamprologines), or if there would be the risk of predation that
shows up with most eels. There are also questions about territory, since
many of the Lamprologines need to have their rock territory to be
comfortable, and I'd be concerned that a much larger eel sitting in their
'hood would make my guys feel like they didn't have a real home.

If anyone has experience/comments, I'd be really curious.

Thanks,

- Rob

I just picked up an Elipsifer Eel (Tanganyikan Eel) at a local fish store.

I
have not been able to find much information on them other then some

tidbits
like this.

He seems to be doing well in my large mixed Cichlid tank and a pretty cool
addition. Does anyone have one that can share any info about or know much
about them?

Thanks,
Ross
