Default Correct PH tabs, what do they do?

Ok, will do the salt and water changes, but must I really remove the gravel?
He still seems quite agitated tonight, when i came home and turned on the
lights he
bumped into the glass really hard. Now he's pushing on the glass like
yesterday.
Sometimes he jerks a bit, something he never did before. Water stats are the
same as
yesterday, PH is still high 7.6. The ammonia jumped up a bit but still
less than 0.3mg/L
According to my chart, even low levels of ammonia can be toxic when the PH
is high.

Would it help if I took the Aquaclear 300 filter out of my already cycled
tank and put it in the
new tank? Right now i have an Aquaclear 500 in the tank but the media is
also new.

Thank you for your patience Ingrid...

oh yes, it sure can cause problems. it can also be psychological. get

the colored
gravel out of the tank. most new tanks are run with salt brine overnight.
keep doing water changes and add 1 teasp salt per 5 gallons. Ingrid

Can a sudden jump in PH
7.0 to PH 8.5 cause any problems?
Can it be psychological, the new tank has different coloured gravel. The
tank is new and not completely cycled yet,
I'm keeping an eye on Ammonia and Nitriites though.
