ill leave the ro/di for someone else, with the only comment that i like

the
kent RO/DI's.

I have a 37 gal fish, anemone, lots (45 lbs) of LR, DSB with 3 55W PC
lights. In my sump(5 gal) I have a mag drive to pump water up to my

tank,
as well as a pump for my protein skimmer. I also have a UV

sterilizer.
Throughput is about 400 g/hour.

Can anyone suggest a simple/inexpensive chiller that will bring my

temp
from
about 85F to 78F ? I am fairly new to this hobby and am bewildered by

all
the choices.
Any easy suggestions ?

your best choice is to yank that UV, thatll do some, the next is a fan

over
the sump, . 3 55w PC's are not going to heat the water all that much,

some
but not that much. the next thing to look at is your mag drive pump, see

if
it needs cleaning, or is it significantly underpowered, you didnt state
which one it is, nor how high the head from the sump to tank is, but it
sounded like its driving a venturi skimmer a UV and the return. so if

its
underpowered itll add to the heat.

The mag drive is a model 7. I have my overflow going to a 5 gal sump, in
the sump is a Sealife skimmer with it's own pump that empties back into

the
pump. Then the mag drive 7 pumps the water through the UV and about 5

feet
back up to the top of the tank. According to the Mag drive box, 5.5'

should
give me 400 g/hour. I don't think I am over stressing the pump but tell

me
if you disagree. As for the lights, they get pretty warm.

Should I put the UV on a timer and run it only for an hour a day ? Would

it
still be effective ? Does it really heat the water that much ?
