Todd, did you use Super Glue Gel by Loctite? If so, that is fine since we use
the same stuff to attach frags to rock.
I'd rinse it well, but other than that, it shoud be solid enough to just hold
liquid. Is your skimmer in a sump, or external? If it is in the sump, the
worst case senario is your skimmate would drip back into the water. If
external, it would make a mess and I would leave it offline.

I broke the center tube in my ETSS 500 skimmer while cleaning the unit
this evening. It fell onto the floor and snaped in two. I can order a
new one from the manufacturer but it probably won't arrive until Tuesday
of next week at the earliest. To make matters worse I am going out of
town for the weekend and will not be able to check on my tank.
To patch it together I used a crazy glue type epoxy by Loctite. It went
together well but I am leaving it to cure overnight.
Question: Is this type of epoxy ok in my tank or are there any poison
issues to worry about?
If the fix gives way over the weekend, the skimmer will not work and my
tank will not have any skimming for about 3-4 days at most. Do you
think that this will be ok? Or should I try to scrounge up a second hand
unit before I leave town?
Why do these things always happen when it is impossible to deal with them?
Any thoughts or suggestions greatly appreciated.
Deeply worried,
Todd
