I wonder if someone could offer a little advice with this problem.
I'm setting up a new tank for the kids and for the first time I'm
putting a log in the bottom of the tank along with the usual
assortment of rocks and gravel. The shop keeper we bought the tank
off advised that we soak the log in boiling water for a few days
until the water is clear, which we have done, but now the log has
been introduced into the tank the water is going a slight brownish
colour.. Is this normal and can we introduce the fish into the tank
or do you think I need to start again until the water stays clear??
any advice will be greatfully appreciated.

Sleeping where no shadows fall
Hi Rob
The water will tend to discolour at first. After a couple of days
filtration it should clear.
E
thanks for the info...
