Default cory's and no gravel

I wouldn't put cories with gold fish, different water temps, and the poor
little cories stuck in a tank with dirty ole goldfish... jk...

just keep your goldfish in the barebottom tank, skip the cories until you've
went tropical...

Is having a plain bare bottom good for Cory's with the consideration of
adding shelter and hiding places for them? or is sticking with gravel

better
even tho at the mo I have a coldwater (nearly warm water) setup with fancy
GF and considering upgrading it to tropical later on would it give any
benefits especially with a Fluvel 1+ in a 25 Litre (6/7 Gallon) Hexagonal
tank
