I don't have a clue about the ammonia, nitrate or ph levels. I have a
filter and an airstone. I change 1/ of the water every 6 monhs (as
instructed by the shop i bought tank and fish from). When i change the
water i treat it the new water before i add it with "Tetraaqua Aquasafe"
which apparently neutralises all harmful chemicals (chlorine and metal ions)
The size of the tank, again i don't know exactly but apparently (according
to the shop) can house 5 goldfish happily.
The white fish seems quite happy but i am concerned about the missing chuck
of scales
thanks again

Jo, what size tank do you have, what are the water parameters (ammonia,
nitrite,
nitrate, ph)?
How often do you do a water change? Do you have a filter and an airstone??
These questions might help us give a possible explanation.
