new food sources - big, juicy worms.
Hi all, the past couple of weeks i`ve been trying some foods on my goldies
to see what they like. So far i`ve discoved that they eat absolutely
everything. cheese, ham, lettuce, skinned sweetcorn, skinned baked beans,
practically any fruit chopped small enough to get in their mouths, goldfish
fry, rinsed and chopped szeschuan chicken, chopped boiled egg, chopped
steak, quaker oats, rice crispies, caught spiders and swatted flies... they
gobble up all of the above with far more relish than they do the flake food
(which according the the ingredients list is basically wheatflour and a bit
of ground fishmeal) they`ve been living on for the past 2 years.
However, tonight my uncle suggested feeding my fish a worm from his bait
box, I`ve used worms as bait in the past and they are killer for breem and
carp. After seeing someone in this NG suggest it i thought i`d try it...
Goldfish are not peaceful.
I dropped the worm in and all the fish got really aggressive, biting him to
bits, with the big goldie headbutting and chasing off the two slightly
smaller fish, then he grabbed the worm and shook it all over the tank like a
rottweiler with a ragdoll, THEN one of the other fish bit the other end of
it and they raced around the tank until one of them got a mouthful and the
other the rest of it... This went on for five minutes until there was
nothing left of the worm...
Goldfish have a violent side. Try feeding your fish a big juicy worm.
