Default Pumps

I've just dug a 4000 gallon pond, finally filled yesterday (woohoo!) and

I'm
in the market for a pump. I've used submersible Danner pumps for a

smaller
pond and hydroponics before and been happy, so I had planned to get the

1700
or 2500 for the new pond. In checking around, external pumps seem to be
more energy efficient, so I am 'pond'ering going that route.

How noisy are these guys? I'm looking at a PerformancePro Artisan A

1/8-30
(http://store.yahoo.com/123ponds/a-1-8-30.html) I prefer a 'babbling

brook'
sound to the 'thundering waterfall' sound so I'm wondering if this sort of
pump will ruin the tranquility of the setting.

If there are any other external pumps that are quieter than these, I'd
appreciate any suggestions.

I can hear you ponders muttering to your collective selves, 'Not this again.
Hasn't this maroon ever heard of Google Groups?' Well, yes I have, and
there was plenty of discussion. After a lot of reading, I decided to go
with a Sequence. However, when I went online to find them, I found some low
wattage Laguna submersible pumps on special for cheap (72 watts, 1640 gph,
$89) so I got two. That will get me set up. If they don't cut it, I can
replumb for an external pump later. Right now I've got a lot of other work
to do on the pond, so avoiding the extra plumbing sounds like a good idea.
