I would take the surviving two back to the pet store asap. Or call a vet and
ask if you have a turtle rehabber in your area and turn them over to the
rehabber.
Then I would do a lot of research before trying this again.
Turtles need extensive filtering to be kept inside along with heat lamps and I
think I a UV light.
Outside they need a nice large pond with a healthy filter attached, a safe
place to bask for hours and hours every day. They need a safe way to enter and
exit the pond. They need a wide variety of natural foods and specialized turtle
chow if that is not available. They eat specific things during certain times of
their lives, young turtles eat more protein than older turtles.
They need to have a hole kept open in the ice during the winter.
we had 5 painted turles, keep them in our unused bathtub, in 2'' water with
a
few rocks. they seem to eat the turle food we got them frm pet store...but they
arn't happy, 3 have passed away

what can I make the tub into to make them
happy?
