Ya know - I don't really care WHO explains it.

Take a slide cover slip, with your other hand holding the fish, index finger on
the fishes mouth and thumb lifting the gill plate, gentle pressure slide the
slip edge from the inside to the outside of an inner gill layer. Put the fish
back in a holding container right away.

Thankyou so much for that!! I might do the gill scraping later but
for now the skin scraping told me what I needed to know - I didnt
identify the creepy crawlies but since there were NUMEROUS different
kinds in VOLUME I decided to use a antiparasitic. I found critters
all the way from 100 to 400 magnification. Then - VOLA! all those
nasty red spots i was fighting were gone! Now my GF are ravenous with
hunger. I figured i did the gram negative and gram positive thing -
then the antiparasitic - one of them had to work.

So all is well (or at leat better)

Thankyou all for your help!
