How big is your tank?
How frequent and how big are your water changes?
What are your tank's ammonia, nitrIte, and nitrAte levels?
Do a 50% water change with dechlorinated, temperature matched water and
get back to us with the above information...
My tank is a REKORD 70 by Juwel Aquariums, so it's a 70 litre tank. I
change the water every week, every fridays. I change 25% of the water
and I've done 50% water changes as well when I felt that the water
quality was poorer than usual. I never thought it was the water
quality as the water is real clear, I assure you. The ammonia, nitrite
+ nitrate levels, well i dunno about that yet.
But i can tell you that the pH is always neutral or a bit alkaline.
And the temperature is at a constant 20 degrees C. Lights are on 8
hours a day and there are 4 plants in the tank. Algae is another
constant battle, i must say. So you're saying that the fish are
resting on the bottom due to water quality?
