I think that is exactly what it does.. I don't like the idea of someone

else
possibly getting my email in the guise of *scanning it for spam* even

though
I am sure it's a legit service. I also refuse to pay someone to do it. You
can set up your own filters easily enough. And as Thomas said, you also

run
the risk of not getting important things because some one else has decided
for you what is spam and what isn't. One person's *spam* is potentially
another persons livelihood. And I am not talking from the perspective of

the
spammer there, lol. I at one time filters out web email comains such as
hotmail and yahoo because alot of spammers use them to spoof return
addresses. Problem with that is, alot of people on EBay use those domains
for correspondence. I was always finding things I needed to get had been
filtered to my delete file.

I agree with Teeb. Marc, you can try MailWasher at http://www.firetrust.com
to scan and filter your incoming mail before your mail reader catch it.

You can filter the key word like VIAGRA, PHARMACY, and other.

Mailwasher you can download for free but the Pro will cost you.
