Best pump for return
I have a CustomSeaLife T2 installed in my Aquarium right now. (See my
later posting.)
It is -magically quiet-...I was so surprised how quiet this pump was
when I installed it - I couldn't hear the pump - all I could hear was
the water flow into the sump !!
The problem I have with it, is that I think it is running my aquarium
2-3 deg. F. hotter than the previous pump, which was an aquamedic
oceanrunner (these do run cooler, but do not get one of these pumps -
the bearings can fail too easily and they are noisy and vibrate too
much).
I am now searching for something which is as quiet but transfers less
heat.

Hey everybody, thanks for reading.
I am having a very difficult time deciding on a pump for my return line. I
have considered a GRI (Gorman Rupp) 510 (can't find much feedback on these),
Custom Sealife velocity T3 (worry about heat exchange with this one) and a
Lifegard Quiet One. I could really use some input on this decision. Please
let me know what you are using good or bad. If there is a pump I'm missing
let me know about it.
My main qualities I'm looking for are quietness, heat exchange and
durability.
I'm looking for around 600-800 gph at 4.5' head.
Thanks so much,
Ken
