While vacationing at a spring in Florida, I found a wild minnow
(or small fish) that was black with gold spots. I would like to find
some for sale. Anyone know what it might be?
Kind of a long shot, but might it be this fish?

No, but close. It's got the right shape, but not distinctively colored
enough. The main change in shape is that my minnow was clearly built for
surface eating, ie. the head was flattish with a mouth near the top.
It is conspicuously black, as if the whole thing were dipped in black
laquer, with some bright, heavy-yellow, gold spots. In spite of being only
an inch or so it is so distinctive that I am amazed I was never able to find
it, even after perusing some of the pages recommended here.
Thanks for pulling up the post again though, I had pretty much given up.
