Just wondering what is the popular sized tanks for breeding cichlids form
Lake Malawi.
Mostly peacocks, maybe zebra's
Thanks in advance

Depending on how many fish you're planning on keeping, you could get away
with some Aulonocara species in a 55. A much better choice, and definitely
the choice for Pseudotropheus, Metriaclima or most of the other Mbuna would
be a 75.
If you're just looking at breeding, in a 75 for the Metriaclima, I'd go with
three males and 12 females. In a setup like that, you should always have
females packing. You'll also want some tanks to allow fry to grow out in
different stages, a 20L and 40 gallon breeder would be good sizes for
growing out fry. Ten gallons are useful for separating packing females, etc.
The same ratio would be good for many of the Aulonocara species. Less for
the larger Aulonocara and less males for the more aggressive Aulonocara
species.
