Hi group, I'm looking for some shell dwellers in the local
Seattle/Everett area. Anybody
know of any sources, either store bought or breeders/hobbiests in the
area?
And, if that isn't feasable, any another small, easy to breed cichlid
ideas?
thanks,
steve
Your best bet would be to order online. Myles with www.hotcichlids.com is in
the California area. There's probably a lot of local clubs in your area as
well, where you may be able to pick something up at an auction. You could
also post on our forum at www.fishaholics.org in the for sale/wanted section
as there's always members looking to part with a couple of fish.

Thanks, Tim. I've done some more reading and I might settle for another specie. What I'm
really looking for is a smaller breed of cichlid that I can keep more than 2 and up to 7
in a 20 gal tank. I liked the idea of the little shell dwellers, each living in their own
condo in a community tank. I might be able to pull it off with another type and several
caves and other hiding places. I'm stopping at the local store today after work. We have
a fish only store that I've just been introduced to and I'm looking forward to chatting
with the "fish guy" not the high school kid. (high school kid very friendly and polite,
but not sufficient knowledge beyond the goldfish tank.)
