I doubt it is CO2 because that is very soluble in water which is why it is
used to inflate the abdomen during laparoscopy without causing an
"air"embolism. You can even inject small amounts in the bloodstream as a
form of contrast (Don't do that at home!!!!)

It is more of a reddsh brown color, and on the glass, it does have air
bubbles in it.
I was able to get the Cemi Clean, and treated the tank last night. Will
do a water change after the 24-48 hours the package recommended.
