I like knowing how treatments work. I know I am not all, but there are some
of us who want to know. Thanks!

2 errors:

since ich is a parasite, it can't be caused by stress. stress can lower

the
fishes natural resistance, but can't be a direct cause.

ich does extremely well in higher temps. that's why it's recommended. it
makes it breed more and faster than normal, which shortens and breaks the
life cycle of the parasite. normal life cycle is somewhere around 8
weeks.

Oh come on!!! You're being picky just for the sake of being picky. Do
you
feel better now? Have you impressed enough people?

Bottom line, stressed fish get ick more often. The stress lowers their
resistance to this naturally occuring parasite and they "get it" just like
you and I catch the flu or a cold when we are tired, overworked or
whatever.

As for the remperature, increasing it helps make the ick go away. Do you
need to know the mecanism? When I take antibiotics do I need to know how
the antibiotics are killing the germs or do I just need to remember to
swallow them once a day with water for 10 days ?

If this is the way this group goes, I'll steer clear.
