Most amazingly, it's got about $400 or more worth of livestock in it

The store owner said that it's been going for a couple of months with no
apparent problems, all healthy, etc. He uses treated tap water to top
up, no skimmer, just really really simple.

How can this be?



It sounds like a mis-understanding to me. Are you SURE the livestock is
included?
