Have had help from a few ngs to selection some smaller cichlids(3-4")

articles I've ready they are easily maintained and a good community
fish. Is this correct?

My single male Krib was an absolute terror in a normal community tank.
He chased the clown loaches, stalked the cardinals, nipped at the corys,
and confined the angelfish to the top third of the tank. So I used him
to cycle a Tanganyikan tank and gradually raised the pH to 8.2. He was
fine even with the added Kent salt mix, and found a comfortable place in
the pecking order somewhere above the daffodils and below the N.
leleupis. At this high a pH, his color was not as good as in soft water
and he didn't display much.
So, easily maintained yes. Good community fish...well, it depends on
what you call a community. ;-)
