BTW, the airstone driven corner/box filters seem to have quite a
turbulence effect from the bubble stream, so unless there's a way to
quiet them and still have them work, I don't think they'd be suitable.



Sponge filters are good, I've used them for goldfish fry tanks.


I had to look to see what a sponge filter is, because I've never heard of
that before. I found this:

know that the best tool to cut this stuff with is one of those 60's style
electric carving knives. Works like a charm.
