Assuming it's freshwater, which I previously neglected to find out,
there is a rule of thumb that states "one inch of tropical fish per
gallon". (yes, I'm in the US, and we have a lousy measurement system,
so roughly 6mm of fish per litre) Keep in mind the adult size of the
fish before purchase. This rule has many exceptions. Some fish are
too territorial to share their space with other fish, for example.
