Ok looking for some help

One of my new fish has died (well its floating on the bottom but not
moving)
its a catfish I was advised to buy to help the fish environment.

My tank is very cloudy. Only added the fish on Sunday.

Is this normal or should I be panicking? Obviously i'm very upset about
the
dead catfish but the fact the water is very cloudy is worrying me as I
dont
want to lose any more?

Thanks for any advice given!

If it's a white cloud then it's a bacterial bloom and the start of your
cycling process. Did you add a lot of new fish at once?

I added 4 goldfish and 1 catfish (now died). The cloud is yellowish in
colour?

You need to (a) look up the nitrogen cycle in aquaria (there's loads of
stuff on the net) and (b) do aggressive water changes to dilute out
ammonia & nitrite - & get a test kit or several...

As its a new tank should I still change the water? The pet shop told me not
to?

(how many fish do you have, how big is the aquarium?)

apologies if I have misunderstood and am doing lessons for grannies in
egg-sucking ;-)

No any help is appreciated! Dont want my others to kick the bucket so to
speak
