Did you find this reference? http://www.loaches.com/copper.html It

temps/salt to treat ich on loaches.
That link is cause to despair! I've now got sources that say every
treatment I've ever heard for Ich is both good and bad for my fish! LOL
Theonly uniform treatment that seems universally accepted is the
temperature raise. I haven't added the salt I advocated in the previous
post this time around - after the strong warning against it.
The Aquarisol is a copper-based treatment so I'm going that route in the
quarantine tank, I guess.
If you are worried about
your shrimps it might be better to quarentine them rather than the Clown as
it is really the water that you need to treat rather than the fish.
Yea, that is a good point - unfortuantely, I've only got one quarantine
tank, and the loach I moved in is sick enough for me to be crossing my
fingers that he wasn't too contaigous. He or she is not doing too hot at
this point.
With respect to MelaFix - this is not an Ich treatment. It apparently treats
Fin & Tail rot; Open Red Sores, Open Body Wounds; Eye cloud; Pop Eye; Body
Slime and Mouth Fungus - this is straight off a bottle of the stuff.....
I thought I'd try it based mostly on NetMax's suggestion. It doesn't
seem to harmful to inverts, and it doesn't contain any heavy metals, so
I'll probably dose it tomorrow in the main tank and hope for the best.
No Aquarisol though, since it does contain copper.
Thanks everyone!
