Bill, permit me to correct thing you said. The Weimar Republic actually
launched firearm registration and confiscation in hopes the keep firearms
out of the hands of the Fascists, Communists and the FreeKorps. When the
National Socialists came to power in 1933, the registration lists were used
to confiscate the few remaining private firearms.
