LEAK!!!!!!! HELP????¿¿¿¿¿

I have a leak in main pond its about 10 inches down. Water goes to there
then stops so its at least at the top. How in the world do I find it and
what do I patch it with.Please help in a panic here.

Fill the water to just above the leak ... put a little milk in the water (a
few drops every foot or so) around the edged watch were it goes out. Then
you can get a pond patch at Home Depot or the like. DKat

this idea was posted here by someone years back: let the pond leak until it
stops (sounds like you already know where that is....) make some kind of
mark or line somewhere at the surface. add just enough water to bring the
level back up a quarter inch or so (depends upon how fast the leak) turn
off all filters, airstones, waterfalls, etc to allow the water to be as
calm as possible. go around the edge of the pond, and very gently drip
some milk close to the edge, a little at a time, watch whether or not the
milk gets sucked towards the liner, and it will show you where the leak
is. for quick patch, you can use a swimming pool wet/dry patch... when
there is time, patch tape inside and out will do it. I also cover the
patch tape on the outside with the stronger tape made for joining two
liners.

I'd submit that this technique will not work if your leak is in a water
feature. I speak from experience. My stream currently has a leak, and since
my pump is set fairly low, it will leak and leak and leak.

No the milk trick will work only in still water, which is why it's used for
the pond itself.
There are other ways (some involve dyes, etc) to locate leaks in streams.
Leaks in a stream are fairly easy to find, as long as you are willing to
pull the liner up from the sides to look for wet soil, etc.

When checking for leaks in the plumbing start by checking for leaks at
joints, anywhere the flexible tube is connected to fixed pipe and any
sections of flexible pipe.
In my area the problem all seem to have turned up in flexible pipe sections
where squirrels have chewed through it.
